Middle Village is a neighbourhood in the centre of Queens and was given its name due to the fact that it lies halfway between Williamsburg and Jamaica. Its has a small town, suburban feel to it and on its main street, Metropolitan Avenue, there are many Italian restaurants, bakeries and butchers. Residents are very proud of their park, Juniper Valley, which boasts many attractions including 55 acres of baseball and soccer fields, a roller-hockey rink and a court for the Italian game of bocce. In fact the park holds an annual New York City Bocce Tornament every September.

Many infamous mafia members are buried in the neighbourhood's St. John's Cemetery including John Gotti, Lucky Luciano and Carlo Gambino.
